I’ve been teaching for 18 years; I am married and have 6 children. We love figuring out ways we can all do fun things together, like recording music, riding a family-size bike, or camping in our school bus.
Currently, my favorite verse is Romans 12:12, “Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.”
I love this verse because it doesn’t matter what we’re going through; God has a plan for us to follow. God asks us to choose to be joyful, not in our circumstances, but in the hope He gives. As a mom and a teacher, there are many times when I don’t want to be joyful, but when I am, it changes our entire home or class. God asks us to be patient, not when it’s easy, but during the toughest times, those times when you don’t see the light at the end of the tunnel. Lastly, God asks us to be faithful in prayer. That means He wants me to pray all the time, bring everything to Him, and look to Him for guidance when I don’t know what to do. I see the difference when I remember to do these three simple things, and it turns my hard days into days full of His love and peace.
