The FHLCS School Board of Directors is comprised of twelve elected members serving two-year terms. Board members are volunteers and do not receive compensation for their work.
The board will be providing a special listening session on 10/2. Listening sessions are just that, it's an opportunity for the board to listen and the community to provide feedback. As the purpose of this session is to hear from you, the board of directors will not be providing any comment. This space is solely created for the purpose of FHLCS community members to be heard by the board. Individuals interested in making a statement to the Board should contact Heather Johnson (Board Secretary) at boardsecretary@fhlcs.org and provide the following information:

The listening session will be 10/2 from 3:30 to 4:30 in the FHLCS Gymnasium. Please note this is an adults only meeting. No students or individuals under 18 are permitted to attend.
At the meeting; individuals addressing the Board should arrive a few minutes prior to the scheduled meeting to check-in with the Board Secretary Heather Johnson.
To permit fair and orderly expression, the following parameters shall be used to govern the meeting:
Comment shall be permitted as indicated on the agenda and/or at the discretion of the presiding officer.
Participants must be recognized by the presiding officer.
Each statement made by a participant shall be limited to a two (2) minute duration.
Participants shall direct all comments to the Board and not to staff or other participants.
All statements shall be directed to the presiding officer; no person may address or question Board members individually.
All members attending the meeting must treat each other and the Board with respect.
Individuals making statements are not permitted to make personal attacks on any FHLCS employee, Board member, other participant, or any member of the FHLCS community.
Video, photographic, or audio recording of the meeting is prohibited. Please note as a standard practice, the meeting proceedings will be recorded by the board secretary to allow for thorough review of statements provided.
FHLCS acknowledges and complies with all Federal FERPA laws. As such, no student's (past or present) personal information is to be shared.
The presiding officer may:
- Interrupt, warn, or terminate a participant's statement when the statement is too lengthy, personally directed, abusive, obscene, or irrelevant
- Request any individual to leave the meeting when that person does not observe reasonable decorum
- Call for a recess or and adjournment to another time when the lack of public decorum so interferes with the orderly conduct of the meeting as to warrant such action
- Waive these rules with the approval of the Board when necessary for the protection of privacy or the administration of the Board's business
Join us on Friday, October 4, from 12:00 to 2:30pm for a unique assembly and classroom experience with your grandchild. This event requires an RSVP. With a valid early dismissal form, your student can leave at 2:30pm with their grandparent. Please complete the early dismissal section of the event registration to indicate whether your child is authorized to leave early with their grandparents. Students without a valid early release form will not be allowed to depart with their grandparents.
